Ubuntu server with red5

I'm using virtualbox to run ubuntu 12.04 LTS to host red5 streaming remotely and the program i'm using requires the ip of the server the red5 is i've used ifconfig but all i get from that is a local behind the router ip what do i need to do to find the web ip of my server?

ok i've got that but all i can access with it is my router

If the guest is set to 'bridged' (i.e. it appears on your network as a regular server with an IP served by the router) you would need to configure port-forwarding on the router.

Its set to bridged however it doesn't show on the network

does it have an IP address? You will probably want to set a static one.
