Hello!
I'm new to VirtualBox. I have Win 7 Home Premium installed on my laptop.
1) should i purchase an additional license to have win 7 home premium (or any other else win 7 edition) run as my guest operating system?
2) can i copy an image of this Win 7 guest and run it on other host operating systems?
3) should i purchase an additional license to have win xp run as my guest operating system?
4) should i purchase an additional license to have win xp run as my guest operating system if i have win xp as my host operating system?

Thank you!
Ivan.

Why are you asking us about Microsoft licensing policy? Read your Win7 license, or ask Microsoft. Nothing that we say matters.

I can tell you that I bought a separate XP license for my VMs, so that they could be licensed independantly of any host, i.e. I could move them between hosts. The XP (SP2) license did not specifically mention VMs. I would not expect the license for an OS (bundled with my PC) to cover that use - but like I said, Microsoft are the people to ask if you want to know their policies.
