can't get bridged to work on windows 7, ubuntu guest

hi. i've tried, and tried. but i can't get my bridged adapter to work.
running windows 7 and virtualbox version 4.1.18.

here's the results from running vboxmanage list bridgediffs

Rather strange IP address. Is there a router in your network?

yes. but that's not my real ip address. i modified slightly for purposes of posting.

I am only interested in what it says about eth. Is there an eth0 and does it have an IP address? Are there any other eth* listed?

Why would you try to disguise a private IP address?
