I can download VB Extension Pack OK but when I try to run it I get "error occurred while extracting files". Any advice appreciated.

Thanks. Unjfortunately there is no "extensions" sub menu on my settings menu so I'll have to try doing it manually.

What version are you running. There has been a section for Extensions since 4.*

OK so from the VirtualBox main manager look at the top left and you will see file. Click file and then preference.

When I do that I get three options:
Create new folder
Create new document
Connect to server

I thought I had to click on machine, settings and extensions was supposed to be one of the options on the LHS but in my case I only have General, System, Display, etc but no extensions.

I don't know what you're describing, but it doesn't sound like it's VirtualBox.

Anyway - post a screenshot; a picture is worth a thousand words, or so they say.

Thanks to your perseverance, I've now succeeded. I was looking in the screens for the operating system instead of staying outside it and looking at the opening screen for Virtual Box. Thanks again.
