VT-x not working on Windows

Hi, I am new here. I'm not sure it's right to post in this forum though, but I'm looking for a solution.
I have a i3 processor and VT-x worked before.
Several months ago, VirtualBox started giving me the error that VT-x is not working, so I can't emulate 64-bit or dual-core.
Thing is, it works perfectly in Fedora/Ubuntu hosts, so it's not some BIOS or hardware problem.
Can anyone come up with the problem?
Sorry again if it's the wrong place to post.

Most likely you installed some other software that uses VT-x (another VM platform, or some kind of development environment which includes a debugger). Only one VT-x client can be running at a time.
Post a log file and we can be sure (as a zipped attachment pls).

Sorry but how do I get the log file?
All I can get is the error message.

The log file is called "VBox.log" and can be found in the "Logs" subfolder of the VM folder. In the same subfolder you may see VBox.log.1 etc - I'm not interested in them since they are just backups of earlier versions of the log.
Post the log file as a zipped attachment please.

Well there are two situations.
I run Ubuntu in a single-core 64-bit VM and Windows 8 in a dual-core 64-bit VM and get different error messages.
So I'm posting two logs

single.log wrote:

That's not going to work. You can't allocate more RAM to a VM than your host has available.
single.log wrote:

That's not going to work either - as I suggested earlier you have something else using VT-x already, and VT-x can't be shared (the "VMX IN ROOT MODE" error means that VT-x is already in use).
dual.log wrote:
00:00:01.330 Host RAM: 8103MB RAM, available: 4991MB
00:00:03.568 RamSize <integer> = 0x0000000100000000 (4 294 967 296, 4 GB)
Cutting it close here too. I would expect problems if you starve your host of RAM. In an ideal world your VM would not use more than half the hosts free RAM.
dual.log wrote:

And again.

Thanks a great deal! But any idea what could possibly be using it other than VirtualBox?

You already got suggestions in the second comment... really
you have to know what you installed on your system, don't expect us to know!
