Running Win7 64 Host and Ubuntu 12.04 guest. When I try full screen, the little VB menu goes away, even if I pin it to not autohide. The only way to get back to the Host is either log-out/shut down or hit Ctrl/alt/delete. It is visible in the login screen.

Any ideas?

Use the host+home hotkey to access functions, or try it with Unity 2D.

Thanks but the home host key doesn't do anything other than occasionally bring up the VB menu. I tried Xubuntu and it works fine.

You can get back out of full screen using the host+f toggle, but the issue is Compiz and full screen don't get along. Unity 2D usually works well though, but that is up to you.
