Upgraded to Mountain Lion, networking no longer working

I'm running Mountain Lion and a Windows XP guest, previously with Lion I had the network set as either Bridged or NAT. The XP guest could then login using my company supplied user account on the corp domain.
Since Mountain Lion, NAT and Bridged no longer work. Instead when I attempt to log into the XP guest, I get the message "Windows cannot connect to the domain ...".
If I switch the networking to the Generic Driver I am able to login successfully, however once in, I cannot access anything on the local LAN or internet. I get messages about no connection, and that Internet Explorer cannot display the web page, etc.
IN the OS X system log I do see the following messages:
netbiosd: name servers down?
Anyone else seen this?
ciao
