Ubuntu very slow on VirtualBox 4.1.18 / Windows 7

I installed VirtualBox a few hours ago on my Windows 7 machine and ran Ubuntu without any issues. I then rebooted the computer and now Ubuntu takes ages to boot. Once it boots it's so slow that it's pretty much unusable.

I would appreciate any insights on how to fix that. I attached the log.

00:00:02.380 HWACCM: No VT-x or AMD-V CPU extension found. Reason VERR_VMX_MSR_LOCKED_OR_DISABLED

Enable hardware virtualization in your PC bios and it should speed things up a lot.
