Windows 2003 VHD not booting

My host machine is Win 7 x64 - I have created two Windows XP VHDs using DISK2VHD of my old laptops that worked successfully. I also have a fileserver that has Windows 2003 Std x86 SP2 fully patched. I ran the system through DISK2VHD. When I present the VHD to VirtualBox, the machine doesn't seem like it goes anywhere. It has a smaller black box, not even the same size as if it was going to boot. I guess I don't know what to look for in the logs, I'm guessing I'll need to post those.
Just wondering maybe if there is another free product I could use to try and create an image of my machines for VirtualBox.

As you say, post the log - as a zipped attachment please.

I see you have the IO APIC setting disabled - you could try enabling that. There is no correct setting for this switch, but if Windows is installed with it set one way, it should remain that way. Otherwise I don't see anything much wrong, except that the log appears to be incomplete. Did you copy this while the VM was still running (or suspended)? Even if you closed the VM down (equivalent to hard power-off) I would expect to see that in the log.

Yeah, I grabbed the log while it was in the suspended state. I guess I never though of trying the IO APIC setting since my other machines didn't require it. Now the machine boots (Thanks!)...but now it won't take my key to activate windows

That is not a surprise. See the discussion (a sticky at the top) on Windows activation in the Windows Guests forum.
Moving a system to a vm usually involves enough "hardware" changes to trigger activation.
