I want to resize my guest windows XP on mac, expand it from 10G to 20G. I entered command in terminal, and it showed that i succeed, because i saw the 0%,10%....100%. but when i opened the virtualbox, i saw no change in the storage (IDE primary master is still 10G)
Can someone help me pls.?!!

You need to increase the primary partition to take up the new space.
I use Gparted live CD.
Or if you are comfortable with Windows diskpart you can use that too.

Oh and if you have snapshots you can not increase the drive.
If you have snapshots you would first need to clone the current state which makes one flat file and then you can increase the size of the drive and partition.

but I never used snapshots before. and before partion in windows, I should at least see an increase in storage first, isn't it?

Sorry to say I don't know how it is reported on a Mac. You can always boot the guest with a Gparted live CD and see what it says. Its free and I know it works really well.

To save you searching, available here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gparted ... ve-stable/
Download the ISO and mount it in the VM, and boot from it. Follow your nose from there. Expect to see your existing partition occupying much less than the new hd size. Drag the partition size to fill the drive.
