Hello,
I first wanted to thank all of the contributors to this board. This board and this program have proven very useful to me and my work environment. I will be as brief as I can. I have iMacs in several public areas configured for public use. They are set up with two accounts. One account dedicated strictly to running the Mac OS and another account that runs only VirtualBox so that the user can access Windows. Users can toggle between the two account via Fast User Switching. The issue that I have is that since VirtualBox is still running even when you switch over via Fast User Switching, it does not automatically eject usb devices. So if someone is on the Windows account using their usb device it mounts fine but once someone else comes in and switches to the Mac account, they can not see their device because it is still mounted in Windows. Is there anyway to get the usb device to automatically eject once a user switches over to another account? I know that it is a quick two or three step process to just eject it manually, but given that these machines are in public locations, I need to automate it. Also, I can not use BootCamp as an option since it requires you to reboot the machine and wait for it to come back online. Thank you for any help that anyone can provide on this.
