Network Setup Help

I have a Windows 7 Host with Server 2008 R2 Guest. I am attempting to serve a website from the guest. I am able to bring up the website when I have the settings on Host Only Adapter, but I also need web access on the guest because the website pulls data from online. I tried NAT, but that does not allow me to access the site. Using Bridged Adapter does not allow either internet or access to the website, but based on my reading this should be the correct setting.
When in Bridged Adapter I only have one controller. I set the Promiscuous Mode to Allow All and Cable connected is checked. Can someone please help me with getting my network setup.
Thanks,
TJ

Bridged requires a router in the LAN. If there is a router than I would suspect a firewall issue.
You should be able to use host-only for the host and guest to talk and add a second virtual adapter in the guest, set to NAT for the guest to be able to reach the Internet.

Perryg,
Thank you for the reply. I currently do not have a router, I am on a network. While on the NAT I am able to connect to the internet, but I am unable to access the website. I have also tried port forwarding on NAT. I used port 80 on both host and guest and left the optional ip fields blank (I did try putting in my IP for the host and guest but that did not work either).
I am pretty sure that I got the firewall all set up properly while using host only, but just in case I turned it of on my guest for the remainder of this setup so that I can guarantee it is not causing any issues.
Please let me know if you have any other suggestions on how to setup the adapters to allow both guest internet and website hosting.
Thank You,
TJ

Well with no router you use host-only to talk host-to-guest. You add a virtual adapter in the guest settings and set it to NAT and that will give you the Internet to the guest.
Did you try this? The host-only address is 192.168.56.* so look at the network information on the host and guest to see what it is. Then you use that address to access the host and the other to access the guest.

Perryg,
Thank you very much for your help. I finally found out what my issue was. While using port forwarding in NAT I was using port 80 to port 80. Well, since I had IIS setup on my host it was not liking what I was doing, even though I had it stopped. I tried host 8080 (You can use whatever port is open here) to guest 80 and success. I still left the ip options blank.
Thank you again,
TJ
