[Solved] Cannot use micromax mmx310g datacard in ubuntu

hi i have installed vm virtualbox in windows today and then installed ubuntu using poweriso. But when i tried to connect to the internet in ubuntu through my micromax mmx310g datacard i couldnt connect to the internet. I am using sakis3g software in ubuntu for micromax mmx310g datacard. it shows error likr tty :roll:
plz help

As to your question: virtual machines are simulated computers, using simulated (not real) hardware. Hence a VM cannot use host PCI or PCMCIA modems. However if the host is connected to the internet then the guest simulation can piggyback on the host, using NAT or bridged networking (see chapter 6 of the user manual - online here). If the modem is really old fashioned, presenting a serial port "AT" (Hayes) interface (not a LAN interface) then you must map its serial port to the guest.. and I wouldn't not hold out much hope of it working well since UART serial ports have rather high interrupt latencies (bad for VMs).

Thanks... after reading that i understood that ubuntu will be connected to the internet automatically if i connect my datacard to windows7(here i have installed virtual box) and it works...thank you very much and sory i am a newbie so i was not able to understand where to post. :lol:
