Planar Touchscreen Monitor

Post by bjele »

Apologize in advance for the complete newbie question:

I have VM VIrtual Box running in Windows 7. Today, I plugged in a Planar touch screen monitor to replace my primary monitor.

In Windows 7, I immediately the touch panel immediately worked like a mouse, but Windows 7 went online and downloaded more stuff and now Windows 7 sees the monitor as a tablet. I have a Tablet option in the Win 7 Control Panel.

VM Virtual box treats the touch screen like a mouse, but I don't have the additional settings. Control panel inside of the VM Virtual Box doesn't offer the Tablet option. Is it possible for the VM to see the device?

Thanks

Bill

I seriously doubt it. The video drivers, and the tablet drivers are emulated and even if you manually install the touch screen drivers the emulate drivers could not use them. The only way I see this working is if the host has VT-d but I am not sure that the VirtualBox drivers have progressed to be able to use that for monitors.
