Install ISO on top of VDI - cant find boot media

I'm trying to install a copy of a Vector Linux 7.0 ISO on top of a Vector Linus 7.0 SOHO VDI. ( in Windows 7 64 bit) The reason for this is the SOHO edition has way too much stuff installed and running than I need But it has the right partitions set up already. Vector doesn't have good mouse integration support and trying to partition the drive for Linux is a pain. The mouse wont go where I need it. So, I found a VDI of the SOHO edition and want to install the Lite version on top of that.
I get the Lite version installed but on Boot the system can't find the boot media.. I had previously told the installer to use LILO as the boot manager. It may be just a simple setting, like I'm not pointing to the Light ISO right or it didn't set up the LILO right.. I dunno. I appreciate any help I can get. Thank you.
