How to connect the two OS use by ping command

help me plisss,, :cry:
i have trouble ,

i'm very new in linux and networking,
i want to ask you how to connect the two OS by ping command where the host (debian) as proxy.
use Vbox 4.0.4-7

guest details:
ip address : 192.168.5.127
mask : 255.255.255.0
gateway : 192.168.5.1

host details:
ip address :192.168.5.126

i hope all off you can help me..

Make sure none of the VMs are using NAT, make sure ICMP is enabled in any machines you want to ping.

i have used bridged adapter in host and guest,
the guest can connect to the host,
but if i pinged from the host it can't.
