I want to install the linux Kernel in a Virtual Machine. i downloaded the Kernel 2.6, but i don´t know how to boot in VirtualBox with this kernel.

Someone know where i can download a tutorial about the installation of the Linux Kernel.

i use Ubuntu in my Laptop, but i want to make an experiment with linux kernel. I won't compile my kernel in Ubuntu and I prefer use VirtualBox with a pure Linux Kernel to compile and work with his.

The problem in that i cann't boot and i cann't start with my experiment. I read a lot of post and blog about virtualbox, but in anyone explain how to the linux kernel is booted.
If somebody know a how to or a Tutorial, please put the link or give some notes.
