I am running VirtualBox from MAC OS X version 10.6.8 on a MAC mini and I am attempting to interface with an Innova 3160b ScanTool. Innova only supports Windows XP or later for their scanners so I am running VirtualBox 4.1.18 and Windows XP with Service Pack 3.
I have setup a USB filter for an Innova 3160b ScanTool, but the Windows XP virtual machine still sees it as an unknown device that is grayed out. I have also tried starting VirtualBox as admin but still am unable to access the USB device.
Cannot connect to Innova USB ScanTool using MAC host

The matching extension pack is installed and I am able to attach to and use other USB devices, such as printer, camera, memory stick etc.

In the OS X /Applications folder do you also have a VirtualBox log of three/four lines?
