Disk space issues

Hey all,

I have a Linux guest (Fedora 15) which is meant to have around about 17gb of dynamically allocated storage. I think I've done something wrong somewhere, however, as I've ended up with only about 5gb of storage.

Here is the output of df -h

Code: Select all

]$ df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
rootfs 4.5G 4.4G 88M 99% /
udev 748M 0 748M 0% /dev
tmpfs 755M 388K 755M 1% /dev/shm
tmpfs 755M 628K 754M 1% /run
/dev/mapper/VolGroup-lv_root
                      4.5G 4.4G 88M 99% /
tmpfs 755M 0 755M 0% /sys/fs/cgroup
tmpfs 755M 0 755M 0% /media
/dev/sda1 485M 71M 389M 16% /boot
/dev/mapper/VolGroup-lv_root
                      4.5G 4.4G 88M 99% /tmp
/dev/mapper/VolGroup-lv_root
                      4.5G 4.4G 88M 99% /var/tmp
/dev/mapper/VolGroup-lv_root
                      4.5G 4.4G 88M 99% /home

The contents of my file system quite clearly do not add up 17.4GB of usage it is reporting. What am I missing here and is there any way to fix it?

Thanks.

How big is the partition on the drive? What does gparted say?
