Suspicious behavior regarding my Virtualbox network adapter

Post by espressobeanie »

Hi,

My Virtualbox Host-Only adapter is broadcasting traffic to an IP address based in California and the port is 59944. Is this an Oracle VBOX server?

What's the IP address? Also what is the host-only IP address?

This seems a bit odd to me. The host only adapter is a virtual interface (in the host), not a normal NIC, and the only thing that it can connect to is the virtual NIC in a vm.

It's complete nonsense. If you want to know what the VirtualBox Host-Only adapter is doing, it's dead easy - the source code is available for inspection. Compile it yourself if you don't trust others to do so.
