Good day!
perhaps someone can help me with this issue.
Set up is as follows:
Host - Win 7 Lenovo X220 laptop
Guest - Win XP
As soon as the guest loads to log-in screen it restarts. Sometimes restarts earlier. Only once (out of say 500 times) it managed to get through the set-up screen and worked properly untill I restarted. Then kept restarting again.
Latest log file is attached.
Thanks in advance is anyone has any idea what is causing this!

Re: Win XP restarts on log-in screen
Try giving more RAM to the guest. You currently have only given it 192MB. I suggest 1024MB.
Otherwise I see no sign of a problem in the log: which would indicate that it's the guest which has a problem, not the VM.

Thank you for replying!mpack wrote:Try giving more RAM to the guest. You currently have only given it 192MB. I suggest 1024MB.

I had tried all RAM options from 192Mb to 4Gb.
But if the log shows no problem I guess it is the guest installation that has the problem.

Re: Win XP restarts on log-in screen
If the guest is bluescreening before it completes a boot then you should try to grab a copy of the bluescreen info. See section 12.3.4 of the manual for how to do this.

Re: Win XP restarts on log-in screen
The strange thing is it does not even bluescreen. Just restarts without any notifications or what so ever. Once there was guru medidation notice and a couple of BSOD. Thats out of 500+ attempts.mpack wrote:If the guest is bluescreening before it completes a boot then you should try to grab a copy of the bluescreen info. And I forgot to mention - it loads and works properly in safe mode (with or without network)

Re: Win XP restarts on log-in screen
It sounds like a botched (incomplete) installation to me. Try giving the VM an adequate amount of RAM, then boot from an ISO of the setup CD, and "Repair installation".

Re: Win XP restarts on log-in screen
I have figured it out - for anyone who has the same problem.
My host PC was not configured properly and it hasn't occured to me. I had to go to BIOS setup and enable virtualization in CPU options. No problems occured after that.
Thnks for your help mpack!

Re: Win XP restarts on log-in screen
I already checked that, and according to the log you posted, your VM was not using hardware virtualization (VT-x), hence enabling it in your BIOS should not have made any difference. I assume it's a 32bit Windows XP guest?
However, if your VM is now working then I guess that's all that matters.
