This virtualbox application just stopped executing virtual machines. How should I solve the problem?
Here is the log: ://pastebin com/F0FJ5pxm
And the image is a complete black screen.

Post logs here as .zip attachments. I refuse to click unknown, obfuscated links.
Re: Machine Execution Stopped
I set the link like that because this forum didn't let me post urls unless I'm a member for 1 days and have 1 posts.
I thought someone would be aware of that.. I'm sorry.
I attached the zip file as you requested.

Re: Machine Execution Stopped
I notice that you are giving most of your hosts available RAM to the VM - that is always a source of concern.
Otherwise, I see this in the log at the first real sign of trouble :-
Otherwise, I see this in the log at the first real sign of trouble :-
The error "VMX IN ROOT MODE" means that the VM is configured to use VT-x (mandatory for 64 bit guests), but something else is already using it: e.g. another VM manager running, or running one VM inside another etc.VBox.log wrote: 00:00:00.645 HWACCM: VMX setup failed with rc=VERR_VMX_IN_VMX_ROOT_MODE!
00:00:00.645 HWACCM: Last instruction error 0
00:00:00.648 VM: Halt method global1 (5)
00:00:00.648 HaltedGlobal1 config: cNsSpinBlockThresholdCfg=2000
Re: Machine Execution Stopped
It seems that if VT-x is disabled the guest boots ok, but this shouldn't have be the solution... I mean, it wasn't started any other VM manager by the user himself.
I tried previous version of virtualbox and didn't workout either. How should I debug the situation and solve the problem? Is there any way to trace wich process is using VT-x? Is this the right way?

Re: Machine Execution Stopped
It would have to be something that you installed or updated recently, usually some kind of VM platform, or a debug, development or simulation environment. And yes, it would have been the user himself who did that.
Re: Machine Execution Stopped
So what's the role of virtualbox in such situation?

Re: Machine Execution Stopped
Could you explain this a little better?twiq wrote:So what's the role of virtualbox in such situation?
Reading the posts I see that you have an issue with rc=VERR_VMX_IN_VMX_ROOT_MODE which stops VirtualBox from being able to use VMX since only one application at a time can use it.
Look for something that was installed and is started/running to see what it is. There is no way anyone can remotely do this for you.
Google chrome, android emulator, Etc. are just a few things that do not play well with any other application.
Also check this thread viewtopic.php?f=8&t=48660
and finally Google the error itself rc=VERR_VMX_IN_VMX_ROOT_MODE
Re: Machine Execution Stopped
Is this issue something not related to virtualbox (application)? It stands only by saying that's a critical error.Perryg wrote:Could you explain this a little better?twiq wrote:So what's the role of virtualbox in such situation?
It does say that I need special tools to debug the situation rather than ignoring it if I would choose to.
Thank you for this guidance.Perryg wrote:Google chrome, android emulator, Etc. are just a few things that do not play well with any other application.

Re: Machine Execution Stopped
Indeed it was a problem related with Intel's HAXM. Uninstalling it solves this issue.
Thank you mpack and Perryg for all the help.
