VirtualBox 4.1.18 seems to install Windows Server 2012 RC without issues.

When creating a new virtual machine, I chose to use "Windows 2008 (64 bit)" as the "OS Type".

I agree. I had no problems installing Server 2012 RC under 4.1.18 . Selecting either Server 2008 x64 or Windows 8 x64 as the OS type should work fine.

I had no problem installing it and even managed to install the guest additions but after a couple of devices were marked suspect. The graphics adaptor being one of them.
I was just being curious about the next VBox release. :)
