I have comfigired a RHEL 5.3 guest on Solaris 10 host .
Guest configurations are as: 10 CPU cores , 14 GB RAM and 14 GB .vdi space on harddisk. Bridged networking is used to assign static IP to guest host.
Server is used to open oracle form based application hosted on other servers. But accessing application page through this guest machine is extremely slow. also performance keeps on fluctuating. while typing commands it takes lot to show output even typing commands become difficult.
Kindly share the steps that can be used to fine-tune this machine

Less guest cores might perform better. Also add the parameter divider=10 to the guest kernel command line (grub boot options).

Hi Frank,

I have already tried lowering the cores and setting divider=10 in guest kernel . Actually we are getting user load on both host and guest machines.(host machine receives a user and redirects it to linux guest via ssh -X ) but CPU load of host remains normal(less than 50%) but guest CPU raises to 99% whenever uses exceed 8-10.
