New hard disk for PC - issues for virtual machines ?

Post by Boo2 »

Hi,

I am upgrading my PC to a new hard drive (mostly to make room for the stack of virtual machines I am accumulating :D). Are there any issues with just using Acronis Disk Director to copy everything over or do I need to export my VMs then re-import them when I move to my new hdd ?

Thanks,

Boo

If your new host drive will be an image of your old host drive, and you are not setting up any new users, then you should have no problems. VirtualBox can't even tell that anything changed.

My desktop PCs always have two drives: the system drive and a humungous data drive. Large data files/folders tend to be located on the latter, including all my VM folders.
