Post by fpefpe »

Hello -- I have a VM that was created for v3 -- Is there a tool to convert this to v4?

The procedure described in the blog is obsolete. Exporting and then importing can change the VM in important ways and IMHO is best avoided. Since v4.1.0 the easiest way to bring an old VM up to v4 spec is to clone the VM - the clone will have the v4 layout. The best method is to edit the settings file manually, but that is really for experts only (best because it's faster and guarantees no change in UUIDs etc, there being a small risk that changing a UUID can cause boot or activation problems depending on the guest).
