Dealing with DirectX Issues
Dealing with DirectX Issues
I am attempting as a Windows Guest to run a game. When I attempt to run it, it fails as Direct3D acceleration is not available. I have been scanning thru the forums and virtual box user guide and I have seen it brought up a few times, but nothing I could really compile together to help me from start to finish. I believe there is something about installing a guest additions? Would someone mind walking me thru the whole process? I already have 3D acceleration enabled and I know for sure I am running the 64x architecture. So in theory it should work, but I have no idea where to go from here.

Read section 4 of the manual headed "Guest Additions"
Re: Dealing with DirectX Issues
I am following the tutorial so far. I am in safe mode right now, but when I hit "Install Guest Additions...", nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? I go into the storage settings and the guestaddtions is already mounted so I should not have any problem there... shouldnʻt I?

Re: Dealing with DirectX Issues
The VirtualBox "Install Guest Additions" mounts the CD. If the install does no autorun, run the install manually from within the Windows guest.
