How Do You Put CD's Onto The Partition?

Post by Onegamemore »

Hi,
I currently have oblivion in CD form and I was just wondering how you can install it onto the windows partition.

I have had a look at the options, but I could not see any type of option for selecting the CD inside windows.

Any information will be gratefully received.

Chris.

I am running Windows 7 on a macbook pro with the most recent update.

And what does this have to do with VirtualBox?
Unless it is you don't have the CD/DVD mounted and probably passthrough turned on.

I think I was a little bit unclear in my original post, I was mainly asking how do you get cd's to work on the emulated partition.

Currently when I put a CD into my mac the cd icon will appear on the desktop for my mac, but in the windows partition it does not appear.

Just to confirm, where would I look to make sure that the cd/dvd is mounted and passthrough is turned on?

Use the device tab and CD/DVD. Select the drive or ISO image from there. This should mount the CD/DVD in the guest.

The terminology you are using is part of the confusion: VirtualBox emulates disks, not partitions. I assume you are asking how to install a game from an ISO image of a CD. To mount an ISO you go to the storage section, select the "CD drive" on the left, and associate it with an image file using the panel on the right. You can also mount ISOs at VM run time, using the VM window "Device" menu.
