Gnome3 unless in fallback mode is laggy, but this is also a problem with vmware and parallels as I have the same packages installed. Even with the vmware, parallels, and virtualbox differences Gnome3 is just..buggy in a virtual machine and I think a lot of it has to do with accelerated graphics which virtual machines just don't do that well..

I have however tried Fedora 17 as it uses Gnome3 by default and runs smooth as butter, also it uses software rendering instead of hardware.

Anyone using arch linux/gnome 3 and have it running great under a virtual machine?
