Simple "Internal Networking" not working
Posted: 12. Jun 2012, 08:21
Hi,
I´ve seen many post about this but I havent found an answer. Im a networking student and Im trying to use VB to do some testing.
I have to guest machines, one running Windows 7 and the other one Windows Server 2008. I have enabled a second network adapter for each
and set it up to "internal network" and they both have the same name. Then I went to Win 7 and assigned 192.168.5.3 to the second network adapter
and then I went to Win 2008 and assigned 192.168.5.4 to the second network adapter.
The problem is they cant see each other, when I ping them,it says "session time out". Right now the first network adapter (the one configured with NAT) is turned
off on both guests, but I dont think this should be a problem. This seems to be a pretty basic configuration and I have read the manual.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
note: this is my first time here so any help would be greatly appreciated.
