USB/Printer Issues

I run Windows on Virtual Box so that I can use software that does not work on Macs. I have used the software on Virtual Box in the past and had no problem whatsoever printing via a USB cord to my Epson printer. I have a large project that needs to be printed and a short deadline, so of course when I try to print the documents, it tells me that the printer is not connected. I printed a few things from my MAC OS to make sure that I didn't have a bad cable, and everything printed fine. I feel like there's some sort of disconnect between the USB drive and Virtual Box, but I'm not sure what it is since it has worked for me in the past with no problems. Any insight anyone has is greatly appreciated!
