Virtualbox fails to launch on OSX 10.5.8

Post by enigma_0Z »

Just found out that VBox is no longer working for me. Launching it gives this output:

Code: Select all

./VirtualBox

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, as well as clearing out the ~/Library/VirtualBox folder, and using a different user account. Nothing seems to work. When I launch the program, it throws that message and the icon bounces in the dock for about five seconds, after which it disappears.

It's on an Intel mac (dual core) running 10.5.8. Vbox was previously working, and I don't know what's changed between then and now. It's version 4.1.16, as I just re-downloaded it today in order to try getting it working.

What else can I provide to help, or what can do to help diagnose this?

Did you move some (or all) of Vbox (or your user files associated with the same) to a remote/network disk? ...or do something silly (e.g., make a VM of a VM)?
