Hi there,
I've been recently attempting to get Mac OSX (Snow Leopard) running as a guest virtual machine on my Windows 7 PC. My processor is the Intel Core 2 Duo T6600, and does not support hardware virtualization. However, I read that VirtualBox only requires virtualization in specific cases. I checked on this page on all the Guest OS's and it shows that Snow Leopard does not require hardware virtualization.
I've set up my virtual machine (and checked several tutorials to make sure I didn't miss anything) but I get an error on Start of the machine saying that "vt-x/amd-v hardware acceleration is not available on your system..." ect. The machine boots to the Apple logo screen and then crashes with an error message. I don't understand why I'm getting the hardware acceleration error in the first place--or does it pop up regardless of the guest OS if your processor doesn't support acceleration?
Thanks for any clarification.
