Using Shortcut Keys in Unity on Ubuntu 12.04?

Hello,

I just installed a Ubuntu 12.04 guest on my Windows 7 64-bit system. I switched from Unity 3D to Unity 2D, because the performance was non-optimal. That said it's still a bit slow, but at least now it is bearable.

I found a list of keyboard shortcuts for Unity, for doing things such as the Window Placement shortcuts below; however they don't appear to work even though I am not using "the host key (right CTRL)" to place the windows. Is there any way to configure a virtual machine so that keyboard shortcuts can be used?
