Copy and paste xclipboard

Hi,
Sorry if I've missed some docs here, I did try to find a solution, but no luck.
I have a Windows x64 host running a Debian 6 guest with guest additions installed.
Copy and paste works fine from graphical Java applications, but not seemingly from xterm. Specifically, when I highlight text in the xterm, I can paste it in X using my middle mouse button, but I can't paste it back into my host system. What am I missing here?
