after installing VirtualBox no sound/wireless and no USB

Sound and Wireless worked fine before installing VirtualBox with XP following the guidelines in:
http://news.softpedia.com/news/Unite-Wi ... 8535.shtml.

Now even when not starting up VB: no sound/wireless. not in ubuntu, not in XP (Yes the wireless switch is on ) USB in XP is absent

No idea where to start searching
