goodnight to the forum
my problem is that I want to use a server and install it before I try it
and for that I use it as a gateway
bone access internet from the VM and use it as a gateway
is this possible?

host ---- >> vm (gateway) ---- >> (((access-internet-wifi))

as it should configure the network between the host and vm?

Note: Wifi will connect the vm this is easy the problem is between the host and vm
I'm using backbox linux2(host)
the server is ubuntu(vm)

thanks

When you posted this question in "Linux Hosts" I told you that a lengthy discussion would be off topic. I didn't just mean off topic in "Linux Hosts", I meant this entire site, because this site is about helping people to understand VirtualBox. This site is not about teaching people how to configure networks, unless you can show that the real problem is specific to a virtual machine.

As I said elsewhere, if a physical machine can be a gateway, then yes: a virtual machine can be a gateway too, because you can't tell the difference on a network. The "how" would be for that other networking site or book.
