It has previously been impossible even to install this Windows application if running under VirtualBox. Has this issue been addressed in recent editions?

No need to ask that. You can view the changelog for yourself, and see what has or hasn't been addressed.

It's not mentioned in the changelogs, hence my question. I hoped someone might know something.
