reloading files onto Windows after a reinstall

Thanks for your earlier help with getting my Windows Professional reinstalled on VirtualBox. Now I have run into a new problem.

About a year ago I successfully installed my copy of askSam 6 on my MacBook Pro using VirtualBox and Windows Professional. Recently, I had a problem with Virtual Box and had to reinstall it, Windows Professional and askSam 6.

My problem is in remembering how to get my saved askSam "exec" files back onto askSam.

I have copies on my MacBook Pro and on a CD but when I try File - Open - Look in "CD Drive (D:) it asks me to insert a dish into CD Drive (D:) as if it weren't already inserted.

I have also tried to open it directly in Windows by clicking on the disk icon in the lower right margin of Windows, choosing the CD, and trying to open it as "All files (*) under Files of type:
When I do this, I get this drop down:

Failed to open the CD/DVD image /Volumes/Bugis for askSam/ugi2.bk.ask.
Could not get the storage format of the medium '/Volumes/Bugis for askSam/ugi2.bk.ask' (VERR_NOT_SUPPORTED).
Result Code:
VBOX_E_IPRT_ERROR (0x80BB0005)
Component:
Medium
Interface:
IMedium {53f9cc0c-e0fd-40a5-a404-a7a5272082cd}
Callee:
IVirtualBox {c28be65f-1a8f-43b4-81f1-eb60cb516e66}

This seems to be a problem with VirtualBox, not askSam. I will appreciate any ideas you might come up with.

It is better if you make an ISO or DMG image of the askSam install CD, and mount the ISO/DMG in the VM as a virtual CD. That should definitely work.

Thanks for your reply. I will need some more guidance, however, as I don't even know what and ISO or DMG image is, let alone how to make one of the askSam install CD. Do I do this on the Mac OS or in Windows? Where, then, does the image reside? On a CD or in the computer? Do I uninstall askSam from Windows first and then reinstall it? Sorry, this is all new to me.
