Windows 7 Pro rebooting unexpectedly

Post by bamim2 »

I have a Windows 7 Pro 32-bit guest installed on a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit host & 'sometimes' when I click on a hyperlink in Excel & access a shared drive, that's physically on the same system (but not on the same drive) as Windows VM it reboots the VM. I have 2 W7P 32-bit systems & they both do the same thing. I have a Window XP system & it does not display this behavior.

When I say "sometimes", I mean that I can click on hyperlinks in the same file 10 times & they'll work fine & then the 11th time. BOOM! Down I go. OR I can click one time & reboot. I just never know.

Does anyone have any idea WHY this system would reboot or where I can look to see what might be causing it? I've checked the pitiful W7 System Logs & of course all they say is Windoze rebooted "Unexpectedly". DUH!! I have to say I've NEVER gotten anything useful from W7. What a crappy OS!

Are there VB logs that might have something useful?

These kinds of problems that are reproducible should be reported to bugtracker. If you have not signed on to Bugtracker before you will need to select a new Nickname to be able to report issues.
It would also help if you can post the ticket number here so other can see the progress, add information, or see the final results.
