Hi,
I've used Flash Builder 4.6 on Windows to develop applications for Adobe AIR on Android, and debug them on the device using Flash Builder's built-in debugger, with the device connected via USB.
This works perfectly on a Windows computer (no VM).
I'm trying to do the same with the same device with Flash Builder 4.6 (same version) installed on a Windows guest on a VM in VirtualBox (Ubuntu 11.10 host), but USB doesn't work properly.
I've tried with two different devices (a Galaxy Tab and an HTC Flyer tablet). They both work perfectly on a "physical" windows machine, but none of them work on the VM. In one case the device is not detected, in the other case it is detected but the app is never launched.
OBVIOUSLY I have installed the device drivers on the guest and I have enabled USB debugging on the devices. The same as I do when using a Windows non-virtual machine.
There's clearly something wrong in VB's USB support.
Has anybody been able to succesfully connect an android device through USB on a virtual machine?
Is there any known fix for VB's USB support?
thanks
