I have a Virtual Box running Ubuntu on my Windows 7 machine.
I have the following external SATA Hard drive Reader.
Data-Express-DE50-Dock
Ubuntu recognizes only ONE SATA Hard Drive. If I insert another hard drive, Ubuntu does not recognize the drive at all.
I already add the filter for the USB driver on VB settings. Another idea?
I run Ubuntu from a Live CD and it recognized all the Hard drives I inserted in the External SATA Reader.
Thanks for the help in advance

Re: External SATA Drive not recognized on VB running Ubuntu
A VM does not use physical drives, except via USB or raw access.
eSATA is not USB.
Search your user manual for "shared folders".

Re: External SATA Drive not recognized on VB running Ubuntu
I am using a SATA to USB converter. So the first hard drive that it was inserted in the reader, Ubuntu detects every time but if I swap it for another hard drive. Ubuntu does not recognize the new hard drive.
I am wondering if VM associate the reader with the hard drive ID or something.
Thanks

Re: External SATA Drive not recognized on VB running Ubuntu
More likely, the VM doesn't see a media change unless the USB device is unplugged/replugged.

I disconnected the usb cable from the sata reader and nothing happened. Any other suggestions?
