Guru Meditation -2301

Post by murphyc »

Host is 10.6.8 client, guest is 10.6.6 server, hardware is MacbookPro8,2. Upon updating to 4.1.12 I started to get Guru Meditation -2301 on startup. And still get it with 4.1.15. I'm not seeing any guru related bugs. Attached is VBox.log. I'm not having problems with non-Mac OS VM's.

When I regress back to 4.1.10, and extension pack, the problem is no longer reproducible.

Does 4.1.12-14, works for you if you enable 64bit EFI (MacOS 64)?

Not sure what you mean. The host is only EFI 64-bit, it can't be any other way. Host is booting the 64-bit kernel. The guest is booting the 32-bit kernel due to a 32-bit only kext I need to use. I'm not aware of what the (U)EFI bit depthness is being implemented for the guest environment by VBox.

When you're configuring VM under os type: Mac OS you may choose in either versions Mac OS or Mac OS64. But now it isn't relevant (you could use it as workaround), we've been able to reproduce the issue, thank you for reporting and sorry for inconvenience.
