This topic is for discussion of the 4.1.12 release.
You can download it from
here.
The 4.1.14 release has only a few fixes as this release was on hold for several days waiting for the next VDI release.

One additional remark: VirtualBox 4.1.14 (and older versions) will not work on Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion Developer Preview. If you try to start a VM on that OS, your host will most likely panic. We are aware of this issue and working on a fix. There are also problems in certain other Mac OS X environments which we are investigating as well. We hope that we can ship a fix with the next maintenance release or even post a test build before the next version is released.

I cannot install Virtualbox 4.1.14 with USB support to W7 Ultimate. First time it crashed the whole computer, blue screen. After some testing I noticed that I can install it if I leave USB away. I had to reinstall 4.1.12.
Is there a way to uninstall Virtualbox (or what is left) in case installation crashes before one can get to the form where you can select install or remove.

Could you enable the
crash minidump creation, try installing 4.1.14 again and attach a minidump here in case it BSODs during the install again.
Slackware 64-bit Guest console mouse

I noticed a problem using the 4.1.14 release that I don't think I've seen before. The square mouse cursor stays in the middle of the console text display of the VM and doesn't move. I'm using a Windows 7 64-bit host with a Slackware Linux 64-bit guest. I've tried this with and without X-Windows running and the results are the same. The mouse cursor does move when I have the KDE logon or desktop graphical display. It only seems to be a problem with the console terminals in the Linux guest.
I verified that the Guest Additions were correctly built and loaded. The Guest Additions are not reporting any errors. I have also tested using a 32-bit Slackware Linux guest with the same results. Clicking the mouse highlights a line, so the console is apparently seeing mouse clicks but not mouse position events. I have tried stopping and restarting the "gpm" program and it behaves the same way.
Can anyone suggest how to troubleshoot this problem or verify if the console mouse support in a guest should work with gpm?
After some further testing I found that the console mouse support works using the VirtualBox Guest Additions version 4.1.2. However that version of the Guest Additions has other problems with switching between graphics and console screens. Versions 4.1.4, 4.1.6 and later of the Guest Additions have the problem with the console mouse cursor not moving. I am testing in VirtualBox version 4.1.14 using the Guest Additions from 4.1.2 when the console cursor is working. This applies to both 16-bit and 32-bit Slackware guest operating systems.
I reported this problem on bug ticket #10558.
