en_windows_7...iso not attached?

Post by OppfinnarJocke »

I just cleaned my HDs emptied the Temp dirs among other things. And now when I start VB it tells me that "B:\Temp\Windows 7 Professional (x86) - DVD (English)\en_windows_7_professional_x86_dvd_x15-65804.iso is not attached".

What does this mean?
And what do I do?

It means you deleted something that you probably shouldn't have.

It looks like the iso was still attached to the guest.
Look in the Virtual Media Manager and see if you can remove it from there.

I guess you are correct there :)

Though I guess you are right, I'm not sure what it means that the iso was attached to the guest. I though that once I had installed the guest, the iso was no longer necessary. Is this not the case?

I actually found the iso on a USB stick, and I put it back in the folder where VB expects it, so now the error is gone.

But I seemed to have no problems booting up the guest, even with the error. So I am totally lost as to why this would be a problem. It seems everything works fine anyway.

It's because it is still registered in VirtualBox. Open the Virtual Media Manager and remove it. You will see a warning icon in the CD/DVD section.
It will not hurt anything but will show the warning every time you start VirtualBox until you do.
