Ubuntu 10.04 host | Win7 64 Guest | High CPU on guest

Hello all. I recently moved a Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise disk image to a VMDK via the VMware converter tool and began using it in VirtualBox 4.1.12. I have it setup and it works but when running any program at all in the guest it becomes almost unusable. I also have a natively created Windows 7 64-bit Pro guest which runs just fine. I have selected all the same options in both guest configurations and there is still no difference.

I suspect that there is something with Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise that doesn't meld well with VB drivers or VB isn't handling the Windows 7 requests or processes well.

Below are the variables that I've attempted to little or no success. If you have any ideas, they would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Symptoms:
Booting Win7 64-bit VM boots to Windows animated splash screen - fairly quick
Transition from Animated Boot screen to black screen - 60-120 seconds
Windows background with "Welcome" screen and spinning blue circle - 30-60 seconds
Login screen to desktop after credentials input - 10-15 seconds
Desktop to all startup programs - 20-45 seconds
Launching Outlook\other program - 45-120 seconds & screen refresh is VERY slow

Time is not tellin us the difference and what could be wrong.

From the hosts terminal/command window type VBoxManage showvminfo <VM Name> --details and post here. Replace <VM Name> with the actual name of the VM. Use "" if the name has a space in it.

Note if the host is Windows you need to be in the directory that has VBoxManage.exe for the command to work.

Did you remove the vmware additions before you exported it?
Have you installed the VirtualBox additions?

Also the guests log file (as an attachment) will tell us a lot.

Wow, that was really quick, Perryg! Thank you. As requested, two attahments above. Also included some functional shots.

Here is the top and task manager when the guest is booted and idle with only "startup" programs running.

The information provided does not show a reason for the sluggish response of the guest. In fact it shows that it is running as it should.
Did you remove the vmware additions before you exported the guest?

I created the VMDK file from the VMware converter. I never installed VMware additions manually but if the VMware converter installs them, I never removed them. I do have the Virtualbox tools installed. Let me know on the VMware additions though.

That I could not tell you as I don't actually use vmware. I see this from time to time though with conversions. Normally they work OK but from time to time something is not quite right and they seem to struggle. I do know that I use Windows 7 as a guest and do not see these lags, and from the looks of the logs I don't see anything that would keep it from working properly. One thing that comes to mind though is the actual processor being different between units. Are they? You might also try turning off nested paging and see if that helps.

I only have one laptop. I just have two HDDs. So I don't think the CPU would be different.

I have turned off Nested Paging and that didn't change the lag at all.

Thank you very much for all your assistance and time.
