Seems late in the day to ask this since I've been using VirtualBox long enough to have installed over 100 guests, maybe 200. Every guest I've ever installed whether Linux or Windows seems to run slower with more than one cpu assigned to the guest. Also the CPU and RAM useage doubles. Is this normal?
As a side note, I am running an iMac with an i7, 4 cores/8 virtual cores. If my guest is using only 1 CPU is it actually running two cores?

It's fine. It was just a general question but from what I've seen so far and experienced it seems running one cpu is optimal.
