Can't Delete Snapshots

Post by PJB »

Good Morning!
I've got three virtual machines (Windows XP, MS-DOS & Windows 98SE). Each has snapshots. I'd like to get rid of the extras, now that them machines are working well. (I snap shotted them as I experimented around to get the machines going)
On each, I get error message telling me the snapshots have more than one child hard disk. I can't delete them. I haven't put any child hard disks or cloned these drives.

I studied the forum & the manual and the only answer I find is to clone each machine & delete the original machine along with its snapshots. But, these posts were for WIndows machines.
Do you all think that this is the best course of action to eliminate the extra snapshots?
I've attached a copy of the error message.
Thanks very much for your advice!
Paul

The safest way is to clone. Other than that you will need to start deleting the snapshots one at a time starting with the newest and going backwards to the oldest.
You can use CloneVDI Tool to clone the guest but will need to run it in wine as it is a Windows program. Instructions on its use is included at the link.

Thank You PerryG
I followed your instructions & everything went perfectly. I appreciate your assistance very much.
I can't figure out what the dependancies were that the error referred to, but sooner or later I'll learn.
