Hi guys

I'm running a (virtual) windows server 2008 64-bit on a Macbook PRO OS X and I am having trouble connecting to the internet and pingen from my host to the VM.

The network settings of the VB are set to Network Bridge Adapter.
On the windows sever I am connected to an unidentified network but that network can't connect to the internet.

When I troubleshoot I get the "Default gateway not available"-error

sidenote:
- I can ping from my VM to the Host but not the otherway arround
- Firewall on my sever is deactivated
- While I use NAT internet works fine but ping does not


Does someone have an idea to fix this?

Use NAT. However, it is a fact that pinging from host to guest will not work with NAT - that is a natural consequence of what NAT is.

Bridged will only work if you have an external DHCP server willing to hand out dynamic IP addresses to unknown MAC addresses. That can be a problem in some (usually business) network server environments. If that is your problem and you still want to use bridged then you would need to talk to your IT support people about adding your VMs MAC address to the whitelist.
