Hi all,

I recently installed Virtual Box so i could run Windows 8 test build which worked great however when i came to uninstalling this application it seems that 18gb of space which i set for Virtualbox is still being taken but i cant seem to work out how to get this space back. All programs are now removed from my computer.

Any help on getting this space back would be great.

Many thanks

Sam

It would help if we knew what your host OS was. However, try <userdata>\VirtualBox VMs\<Win8 VM folder>.

If you really want to free all disk space: Did you check if the virtual HDD images files are still present?

mpack already pointed out where to find those.

To be clear: uninstalling the VirtualBox application does not destroy the VM data. If it did then lots of people who habitually uninstall as part of the upgrade process would be... quite disappointed with the result.

In fact, offhand I don't know of any application that, when uninstalled, destroys the data files it created.

Well, there are, but they ask you if you want to remove save/configuration files.
